about me
Hello, I’m Dan, a photographer based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
I’ve always been drawn to photographing people.
Every person has their own unique beauty (yes, you too), and my goal is to help you see that reflected back in your photographs in a way that feels honest, natural, and true to who you are.
My approach is calm, relaxed, and respectful. I understand that being in front of the camera can feel uncomfortable, and I place a strong emphasis on trust and comfort, especially during maternity and portrait sessions. I work at your pace, offering gentle guidance while allowing space for real moments to unfold naturally. Many of my clients tell me they’re surprised by how relaxed and enjoyable the experience feels.
Why I photograph the way I do
My photography style is clean, minimalist, and focused on authenticity.
I shoot mostly in black and white because I believe it strips away the noise. Colour is beautiful, but it can also distract. Without it, what remains is form, light, and presence. The subject can no longer hide behind a dress or a backdrop. What you see is the person.
I believe that every person carries inherent worth. Not earned worth, not conditional worth, but the kind that was placed there at the very beginning and has never left, regardless of what life has layered over it. My photography is, in a very real sense, an attempt to show that.
I can't promise a session will heal everything. But I have watched women walk out of sessions standing differently. Holding their heads up. Talking about themselves more gently. That matters. That's why I do this.
If you’re wanting a relaxed, natural photography experience that focuses on real moments, real emotions, and real connections, I’d love to work with you. Let’s capture something special together!
